Marie Gillo
Marie Grillo has been teaching Pilates since 2003 when she was classically certified by Romana Kryzanowska and The Pilates Studio of Seattle. She has taught under many great teachers including Dorothea Van derWalle, Ellie Herman, Brooke Siler, Erika Bloom, Lori Coleman-Brown, Erika Bloom and more. Her teaching has evolved to suit an individual's needs. Marie is also an award winning screenwriter, film maker, and actress living in Astoria, Queens. She graduated from SUNY Purchase with a degree in Literature and a Master's in Early Childhood Education from Touro College.
Marie has produced and directed an original musical based on the life of Joseph Pilates at The Collective Unconscious, The Manhattan Theater Club and La Mamma to sold out audiences. Marie has also self-published an e-book called Sad Girls Guide to Fitness and worked as a preschool teacher for six years.
